Thread: 2.0 tdi cffb

    2.0 tdi cffb

I'm currently changing the timing belt on the wifes Golf. I have a couple of questions which hopefully this forum can help me on.

    1. The water pump I have has 8 vains (veins, not sure), but the pump that came out of the car has 7. They seem identical in every other way. Will this be a problem given it's just pumping water around?

    2. I knocked the pin out of the fuel pump location and only noticed after I had the water pump out. I turned the notch back manually to the hole and put the pin back in but I'm wondering if this is going to be a huge problem now? The pin on the crank is still in and TDC. Would something of moved or unwound? Do I need to do something before reassembly?

    Cheers in advance

So I changed the water pump to a 7 vane impeller pump.
Put all the timing belt back in place and it seems to be ok.

I now have a problem with the engine bolts. I went to VW to order new bolts. They are unable to order me up one of the bolts as their diagram does not show one of the bolts.

That's a picture of the 3 engine bolts on the right hand side mount or drivers side. VW can't find the part number for the bolt on the right with the smaller threaded section on top. It's total length is 120mm with 90mm below the bolt head.

This is a picture of the parts diagram VW has. You can see circled in red where the bolt goes but it does not depict the bolt itself.

Can anyone help out with a part number for this bolt?

Isn't it the same as bolt 9?

I don't know what year you have but try in here

Or just re-use the old one. i know they are stretch bolts but I've recycled them in the suspension without issue. It's not best practice but "needs must"
