What's your point.
Pissed off that Australian VW decided to use 16inch porto wheels on TDI instead of 17inch porto wheels which look quite nice and aren't even a option
What's your point.
Basically I wonder why VW australia didnt have them as an option at least , they are the standard equip in europe and usa,
Every country / region has its own "standard". You can't keep questioning why we don't get certain things when they do etc. If you feel so compelled, write to VW Australia explaining your little plight. It might do very little in getting them to place it as standard on that model, but it'd be more useful than complaining about it on this forum![]()
Hey, Agreed as above, however its also has to do with VWA having to test, and comply with all ADR's meaning every wheel option has to go the long and expensive testing, based on the number of people who option different wheels, it would end up nothing being worth it from a financial perspective.
Tip, if you like the design, imported them from Germany or the UK!
Cheers S...
I get your point guys, still they could easily have been an option not standard in Australia, to import from usa or europe would cost roughly $600 on top of the cost vw will charge for the wheels from either USA or Europe , Design is a valid point as far as Aussie roads being potholed and lower profile tyres not as excepting of these conditions, thats why I said available as option. As far as pointing it out to Vw it would be a waist of time they made that decision they will stick with it. Finally Im only talking not out right bitching or slagging VW and I thought that was what forums were for, You never know someone could have known were I could get some locally. Anyway lads if it is a contentious issue that you passionate about i'll leave it to you . cheers
Valid point, poor execution..
If you ask me dude, get the thing with the standard wheels then search for a set of wheels off another new VW that you like. You'll be able to pick up a set of "new second hand" wheels ridiculously cheap.
For example, my Audi TT wheels on my caddy cost me $680 with used tyres including freight, and the wheels were like new.

timo72, that's why VW Australia is there for.. write to them directly.. no use complaining in this forum as we don't own VW.. we can post thousands of reply, but it will go nowhere..

Nice caddy, nice wheels ill keep a look out
Ditto on picking up used wheels.
You can't expect VW Aust to provide all options available elsewhere, its just not feasible. Having different standard wheels from Country to Country adds a little something to the market, I'd hate to see every VW with exactly the same wheels.
I think the less common the wheels are, the better. Preens car looks good on the TT's as its a good match and likely not done often / before.
Its like the RS4 wheels. They are awesome wheels, but so many go for them as optional wheels and there are cheap replicas around, so you see them everywhere. A rare look will cost more but keep your ride looking original.
