Is there a chance VW will introduce capped price servicing??

Holy crap that is nuts! Had my 15000km Service done yesterday at prestige performance in East Bris. Was very happy with the service and pricing ($250) and would happily return again.

For the people in Melbourne, just goto Volkwerke in Greensborough. My 15k was about $280 and that included using LiquiMoly oil which cost me about $60-70 alone when I did an intermediate service myself.

No way I'd go back to the clowns at the dealership and pay top shelf pricing for monkey labour effort.

I just had my 15,000 km service and it was $330 at Gary Cricks which for out in the boon docks in ok... again nothing special but they are offering extended warranty if you go through the dealer for 6 years or 150,000 kms if I go to another dealer or authorised VW mechanic that warranty is void.

They do in Europe but in Australia there does not seem there is any incentive to offer this type of arrangement. May because VW buyers here are willing to pay more in general for the brand??

Hmm.. Well you never know they might soon enough..

One incentive I can think of is that it would make VW even more competitive with other car makers who already offer this service. Especially now since their current objective is to be the number one car company, offering this would certainly get more potential car (even fleet) buyers through the door, not to mention the more number of people who would bring their cars back to them for service..

Are you all getting the online surveys to fill out 'post service'? Had the GTI in for another warranty item and have gladly filled out the survey to, hopefully, have a better at chosen dealerships.

Wasn't their 'discussion' at HQ about capped price serving in the last year or so?

Yep the called me then emailed me the online survey to complete... In my view if it makes think about service it's a good thing and I will happily fill out the service form.

I concur completely about Toyota. I had one since brand new for 4.5 years until I sold it last December 2011. Always had it serviced with Sydney City Toyota for ALL logbook services and the prices have been consistent for the entire 4.5 years. Of course they have offered me extras here and there over the phone for useless cleaning jobs, overpriced wiper blades, etc., but the basic service price has always been consistent.

I don't ever remember paying over $400 for a minor service, and my car has always been washed after the service. Free shuttle to the CBD too. My VW is brand new so I've never had it serviced (obviously), but do VW dealers wash cars too?

2.5 years and you've visited a dealer 7 times for issues? Sorry, I love my VW to bits and I know I just promoted a Toyota dealership in my previous post, but again about my 4.5-year old Toyota I never had a single reason to take it to the dealer! I've only been a VW owner for 2 months and you're seriously scaring me!
