I personally wont use dealers. I have used Automotive Hospital in haberfield with my previous Golf GTI & highly recommend them. I have just booked my Golf R in for its 15k service & priced me $320.

Bit of history, but still relevant. April 2012, Wangara VW (northern suburbs Perth dealer), 15K service after 9 months: $442.50, inclusive of $110 for oil and $18 of fuel additive (which worked really well - keep reading).
Currently about due for the 2 year interval service, but won't be any charge for engine-related items (we assume) as the engine is brand new after dying at 24500 km. After reading some of this thread, I may shop around Perth dealers....
Also of note, capped price servicing is taking effect shortly across the range of 2013 models
Great...
15k service done yesterday at Ashbury Service Centre
$85 for Liqui Moly Top Tec 4200 5L (504 00/507 00) @ Repco
$24 for OEM VW oil filter (and sump plug) from Barloworld VW
$100 for the logbook service
All in: $209
Paul Wakeling : would have been $395
Savings : $186 (can go towards some Focal speakers :-D)

Won't use the "stealers" for service, only warranty work. And Barloworld had the best prices for parts I ordered of anyone within 100km of SYD. And really helpful and nice parts manager! Definitely will use them for parts.
Had my 15k service yesterday at Garry Crick Maroochydore:
Service $364
Tyre rotate $30
This include $22 for washer additive which I am going to follow up because I only filled the tank 10 days ago and it hadn't been used so I am not sure what they filled.
Could've been the 1L bottle of genuine soap?
