Hey log, did you by chance try driving it with the supercharger 'switched off'? Wondered what it would be like thats all.

Noticed sometime the supercharger kicks in a little premmie at highway speeds on hills, wondering if disabling this on long drives would lower my fuel usage lol.... That is if it's not bad for the car.

    Wouldn't a 118TSI with the supercharger disconnected simply be a 90TSI

It drove like crap when the supercharger didn't work, but now it's back on again.. I wouldn't recommend not having either of the 2 unless it was done properly.

Yeah I have done so a few times. Its not as bad as you'd think. Just flat and gutless at low rpm but once is has a head of steam it still gets along perfectly fine. Like a 1.4l GTI really. As Prise said, it may still be capable of 118kw, sans the S/C, as peak kw occurs way above the engine rpm at which this particular supercharger possibly be be running (3500rpm). This would also depend on what strategy the ECU applies with the S/C unserviciable.

See, now I was thinking of the OLD italian job. That whine was the straight cut gears in the old mini.

Now for a whine from a movie, I prefer Mad Max!!

Either or.. I'd love the whine! I've never been a fan of Turbo cars. But Blown ones.. Hell yeah! I even have an SC 14 waiting for a project I have!
