Hentai actually means creep. It just seems to have been adopted as a name for anime porn as well.

Going from a Volkswagen to a Hyundai will kill you, wont take you long to notice the minor differences, then the big differences even more and more each day. 1 hour in a Hyundai feels like 4 to me...

Yeah, I'm the same. Despite my engine-death experience, and the five weeks I had to wait for a replacement - and despite the continuing issues unresolved thus far - I just love, love, love this car! Every time I drive it, it's just wonderful.

That's kind of an odd attitude to have, I know, but I just really like the 118TSI. I only wish VW could fix it so it doesn't blow up all the time.

Tell me about it. I mean the car has a turbo... Wait for it...

    AND a FREAKIN supercharger?

How many car owners can say that? It's usually one or the other.

That thought never tires nor ceases to be cool :-p I keep thinking teenage me would think this is mega bodacious awesome dude (although would need some crash overnight rebrainwashing to realise the capacity and cylinders are not necessary in the new world for performance)

Trying to find a replacement that uses a conventional auto was tricky as most of the decent hatches use some sort of dual clutch transmission (Focus also renowned for clutch issues).

The BMW 118i appealed, but by the time you spec it up it's too expensive. So I settled on a Hyundai i30 CRDi. Certainly not as much fun to drive as the Golf, but the build quality and NVH is definitely on par. And the 5 year warranty swung it.

Will be interested to see if Golf 7 resolves the issues - you might see me back one day
That is weird. I drove a brand new rental hyundai i30 for 3 days in regional NSW and it was total cheap rubbish. Underpowered, noisy and an overall general feel of cheapness.
Not sure what the OP is on about here as the i30 is in a totally different league to the Golf - its really a cheap car for the 23 year old girl who cant afford a Golf and probably doesnt care about how good a car is.

I can concur. I test drive the new I30 and I was fairly unimpressed, although I drove the petrol 110kw one. VW's feel a little special... The I30 is just another Korean car. Oh and CVT's are so uninspiring to drive. I do too much city driving to be bothered with a manual so the DSG is a revelation for me.

I took the pick between a new i30, a new lower model golf or a corolla.

    picked an old mk5 GTI.

    heh
