118TSI Fuel Smell

Has anyone noticed a fuel smell on the 118TSI twincharger?

About 4 weeks ago (around 3000km on the clock) I noticed a new smell that is like leaking fuel – but after a check of the garage where I park the car there was no apparent leak!

I was hoping that it was just a bad batch of fuel I might have purchased. But I’ve now been through 2 tankfuls and the problem is still there. So this morning I decided to take it into VW to see what the cause is & if they can fix it (along with my squeaking issue). We’ll see what they have to say about this issue later today

At least they fixed this issue. The report said

"found fuel seeping from high pressure union. Olive & nut section was distored & olive not sitting in union causing fueld leak. Removed & replaced union."

I also had an engine reflash "via SVM of VAS5051B". Anyone know what that means?

Whatever it was, my DSG is now holding gears 3,4,and 5 for longer rather than making a charge for 7th gear. The car drives much better now in "drive"

Thanks for the photo Mr Gee. That's cool !! Lucky I haven't done the APR upgrade yet. Might wait until my car has really settled down first.

is this ECU or a DSG update....what is the changelog?

It was an ECU reflash. They also said that they would reflash the program for the DSG though it wasn't mentioned in the report. But there's definitely a difference in the way it shifts in Drive - I actually feel comfortable leaving it in D since Monday.
