I'd expect a small amount of oil use, but not several litres between services.
I agree with what you are saying 100%. But there should be a compromise and it should be kept under control. 1L every 1000-2000km is ridiculous though. A few hundred ml's every now and then should be more like it.

Obviously babying it hasn't worked. Haha
I don't agree with babying them when new, either.

Just drive it normally. So what if it starts burning oil at 300,000kms? With the way we consume cars these days, it'll be on the scrap heap anyway.

No, I don't believe the issue of 118tsi using oil or having any problems has ever come up on this forum.

try googling this site:vwwatercooled.com.au 118 tsi oil consumption

Still maximum 500ml/1000km after the first 5000km cause you have to run them in.

I'm sorry that you don't like our suggestions so far because they're not the happy, reassuring answers you were looking for.

The excessive oil consumption of the forced induction VW Group engines is something that many of us just live with it.

No No - I am hear what has been contributed. Just adds to the sad litany of issues I have had with the car in the past 2.5 years.

Reluctant to pass the problems onto someone else but guess thats what needs to be done.

Ah the old twincharged engine oil consumption issue... The primary reason I sold my Polo GTI and went for the Golf GTI. My Polo was using a lire of oil every 1200km. I just got sick of it in the end.
