Yeah... it's not as noticeable and using the tiptronic tends to not set off the squeak through more gradual acceleration (which is my normal driving style in a manual)

    1st & 2nd don't seem to trigger the squeak.

As i was saying in the other thread, the squeak seems to be getting softer. If I change the gears manually using the tiptronic i hardly hear the squeak (unlike the auto shifting which tends to request more sudden load of the supercharger). That's probably why manual drivers don't hear it as much.
Sorry, I think it appears after third gear, as at 1st and 2nd gear, the car is not speed up yet. It apparently softer and hardly to hear. I think it will become louder in the future.

The whine i think is normal (its the supercharger working). The problem is the Chirp (short and sharp sound right at the begining when the supercharger engages)

Yes, I think mine is whine rather than chrip sound.

so i guess to ensure that everyone is on the same page...

what we are after, is the chirp/squeal that happens when the supercharger engages. for me, this means it happens when i first step on the accelerator, irregardless of which gear i'm in, and happens more so when the car is already in motion.

the "whine" or as i like to call it hamster cage whirl is a normal operating sound of the supercharger.

spot on, it's the little chirp we're talking about.

yup... the whine, induction noise & the whistle are really cool sounds. My "squirrel" sound has also returned... but only in rare conditions. Seems to be if I repeatedly apply medium to heavy throttle, back off & reapply almost immediately... then when I change the gear I get a squirrel. I don't mind the squirrel so much any more.
