Maniacs DSG Paddle Shifters
Next on the cards were some updated paddle shifters, initially I bought some alloy S2T shifters but after fitting just one I was very unhappy with the feel of them,
I kinda lost the factory “click” if you know what I mean, so I settled on the Maniacs and absolutely love them, best DSG mod you can do.
Tune and Cold Air Intake
It was time for some more power and after a long and wide search I settled on the services of James at BPS Auto’s.
It was really nice to talk to the actual person doing the tune and for him to listen to what you want out of it.
Soon after we added a Volant CAI from Tarmac Engineering and the results were awesome!
Custom TT-S Engine Cover
I was very impressed with the OEM look of the Volant CAI that it left the rest of the engine bay looking a little unfinished as I decided to do some custom work on a TT-S engine cover,
it went so well I sold my original one and started making a few, a bit of hard work but the results are great!
P3 Gauge
Again with the hunt for that factory look I decided to go with the P3 Gauge that is mounted in the air vent,
there is not many places to mount a boost gauge that I liked and after hearing all the problems with the Polar-FIS this was the only option.
I liked the way it offers multiple functions and the addition of and analogue input for the boost gauge to get actual intake manifold pressure.
Boost tap for analog sender
After installing the P3 with the optional analog sender I needed a way of taping into the intake manifold so I could connect it to the P3 unit,
the ECS kit was at a good price with everything you need to do the job, I also liked the way it has the U clip to lock it in place. It can be found HERE
My car being a DSG i was able to put the boost hose through the rubber seal where the clutch booster would normally be,
makes for an easy install to the P3 analog sensor.
R logo Seat insert
These badges are actually designed for the standard Golf R seats but the shape is very similar I thought id give it a go as you can’t but any for the actual Recaro seats.
I had to use automotive double sided tape to stick them on as the adhesive that it can with was not strong enough to hold it in place, not perfect but im happy with the result.
So that's my build thread, hope you enjoyed all the work that you see, please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
Happy to help anyone with any of the mods you see above.
Cheers
