Yes, 2010 R36 wagon. Haldex pump replaced July 2015 at just over 47,000km (paid for by Allianz warranty). The symptoms were really crap traction under even under moderately heavy acceleration in the dry with near-new PS3 tyres fitted.

The cost was just over $1100, including labour and Haldex oil. The repair kit part number is VW0AY598549A according to the invoice.

Your poor car, having to drag itself along by its front paws, because its rear paws are crippled.

I couldn't work out why I had such crappy traction initially - I thought it might just be that my tyres were on their way out (factory Continentals), so I replaced them with the PS3s. When the traction was still crap, I went looking further until I came across a thread that mentioned that it might be caused by an inoperative Haldex. Can't find it again though.

Yeah I know hey! I knew that there was a problem as i never got such bad traction even on the pretty much bald set of conti sc5.

My R36 had this occur at 90,000kms. Same deal, clutch failed, same error, same symptoms of terrible traction, near undriveable sometimes. Launch control was hilarious. New pump from VW was around $650 trade, oil was another $55 or so, then labour is about an hour max two so you're looking at $8-900 max.

My workshop was also adamant that the controller had died as well. I am still not actually convinced that's true so I had them give me the old one but took the opportunity to update to the wireless controller HPA Race Haldex at the same time anyway as the pump to save on oil/labour costs. That adds about $2000 to the cost unless you got the hookups, dunno how much OEM controller would be. However I don't think the controller typically dies.
