I have a MY15 Highline in my garage, it was built in BW30. A few things changed, very minor changes such as a new design bluemotion badge, LED vanity mirror lights as standard, the handle for the boot false floor is no longer hinged. That's all I've noticed so far. It has no sticker at all in the rear window.

It does also have a very annoying creaking to the driver door and the wind noise in the cabin is significantly higher than the three Mk7 Golfs I've driven over the last 12 months, in fact it is the noisiest Golf I've ever experienced - going back to the dealer next week.

What is the best price anyone's gotten on a 2014 103tsi with R-line package? Do you think it's possible to get one for under 36k?

    Hi,

I've been quoted 31k d/a for a comfortline wagon with metallic paint. Is that a decent deal? I am considering waiting until January to see if any manufacturer backed sales come up.

    cheers Dave.

Mk7 Golf - Australian Specifications and Prices (Base, Comfortline and Highline)

    Hi,

Best deal I have got so far for Golf 103tsi highline in limestonegrey metallic with luxury pack (sunroof, bi-xenons and leather) and the driver assistance package 2 (blind spot and rear traffic alert added) is $39,999. I was told that it will be built in the second week of January and ETA for delivery is last week of march 2015. Is this a good deal? please help me decide. I am suppose to sign the contract tomorrow.

    Thanks,
    MRG

I've been quoted $38 500 drive away, for a white (non-metallic) highline with r-line package. This price was given without any negotiation. What do you think is a good price drive away for that package? Do you think 36 500 is doable?

    Hi tigerwoodsgolf,

I hope you are talking about 103TSI? if yes, this car is worth $32290 inc GST plus R-Line package $2200 inc GST so total $34490 inc GST plus dealer delivery say ($1500 inc GST) + rego (ACT $1032) + stamp duty @ 2% ($35990 x 0.02= $720). Drive away is $35990+$720+$1032= $37742. I think at least 2000 discount is possible.

This I am not making it up. I just signed a contract, instead of r line like you I opted for luxury pack 4900 and DAP 2 1500 plus metallic 500 which sums up to $6900 options on top of $32290. Plus dealer delivery plus rego plus stamp duty all up I am paying $39990. In my case flat $39k would have made me much happier but I didn't hassle much. Please stick to single price while asking for price if said no, walk away in good terms. Make sure you do research well before sticking to price.

Sorry for too many words, in the end I think you may be able to get ur car for $36500. All the best.

    Hi MRG

Thanks for the writeup! Definitely not too many words. I went in today. Dealer really didn't want to go lower than 36 500. We finally reached a deal at 36 250 for the highline + r-line package. Delivery is next week. Can't wait to pick it up. You hear a lot of bad things about VW salespeople but they were great today and the negotiations were friendly and smooth.

Now I just need to figure out whether the exterior protection + interior protection + window tinting is worth it. I was quoted 1650 for all 3 (down from the original price of 2250) which still sounds too high. What do you think is a fair price for all 3?

Oh nice to hear that you got what you aimed at.

With R line you already get rear and hatch windows tinted so only front two windows needs tint. I read other people saying in the forum it's not worth getting this interior exterior protection package. Some thing they were suggesting, sorry couldn't remember that product name,if we buy that we could apply it ourselves and protect interior nicely, only caution given is we should not smell it too much while applying. External protection really come down to how we clean it and wax it etc. I have black Q5 with none of this and it looks amazing every time I wax it.
I am not getting it for my golf.

Yeah I have to agree with you on this one. I've decided that even if I do want some exterior protection I'll do it aftermarket. The prices they quoted me are just too high (almost double what it should cost).

The other thing to think about with tinting is that (definitely in the case of my 90TSI) the windows are heat tinted straight out of the factory so you don't need to go with some super-high level tinting. I mentioned this to the guy who did my windows on Friday and he put his light meter on the window. The light meter he had read that it was already blocking 20% so so we went with 50% VLT film which saved some $$ ($290 and done at home) and still looks good and that was compared to $600+ that the dealer wanted.
