8" is dead flush. i thought 8.5" would stick out of guards... obviously not the case?

yeah stock mk5 r32 omanyts are 18 x 7.5 ET51. I am offloading my set, if anyone is interested. I also have a spare (5th wheel) with 225 40 18 dunlops with 90% wear still left in them. Them also look nice in black. there's a thread somewhere...

Here is a picture of Geralis' old R32 running 19" Omanyts. They look great i rekon, a good compromise of looks/comfort/handling etc.

Erm... thread is nearly two years old, so I don't know if the OP still cares...

I think Oempl.us has them. I would love to go up a size from my 18"
I would also consider Helios rims if hey come in 19"
    But here's the answer anyway:

    Omanyt

    Golf
    7.5 J x 18 ET 51

    Passat
    8.0 J x 18 ET 44
    8.0 J x 19 ET 44

    Phaeton
    9.0 J x 19 ET 40
    9.0 J x 19 ET 35

    Tiguan
    9.0 J x 19 ET 33

    Touareg
    9.0 J x 20 ET 60
    10.0 J x 21 ET 50

    Helios

    Phaeton
    8.5 J x 19 ET 45

List is by no means comprehensive.

The Phaeton and Tiguan wheels may or may not fit the Golf without rubbing (would look too wide in any case IMO), so the Passat wheels would be a better option. The Touareg wheels have a different bolt pattern (5 x 130 mm).

As for tyre choice, 235/35 R19 91Y XL would be the smallest fitment you could get away with on a Golf in regards to load index, as 225/35 R19 88Y XL would be insufficient (and almost certainly illegal).
