I wonder if VW Australia can send out the fuse panel layout? It would be worth a phone call.

On my MY11 Caddy, there is a fuse panel under the steering wheel, but wait for this. The sticker that is supposed to tell you which fuse protects what circuit is stuck on a horizontal panel under the steering column in this enclosure. So, I would have to move the seat right back, then contort myself so that I can lie down in the drivers footwell. This would allow me to read the panel. Now I would have to extracate myself and remember what I saw while lying down, and transpose things so as I am now looking at the panel upright and replace the approprate fuse!

Id they wanted to make it harder to decypher the fuse layout, they could not have done a better job of it.

Thanks, I'll check if it is at the same location in Multivan.

Last night I checked all the fuses in the top 2 rows and they all appeared ok but you never know.

It's really stupid the way they make such a simple issue so difficult. They probably want people to go to a VW dealer to get a fuse replaced...

    No Luck with it
I checked almost all the fuses underneath the dash they all seem to be intact. Not sure what to do, perhaps give VW a call tomorrow...

The funny thing is that the lighter lamp is on but the lighter is dead, just wondering if there is a problem with the cables coming to the lighter... Still don't understand why VW keep their fuse diagram as a secret though. Alex

Just a silly question; did you try to put a new fuse in the place? If the fuse is OK check the wire that leads to the cigarret lighter socket, if the wire has the power then remove the socket there is a wire link at the bottom that act as the fuse. Check it, it could be burned.

Have you used a test meter on the actual socket ? the light you mention is probably part of the cars normal lighting system therefore would not be in the same circuit . I cannot believe that your van does not have the fuse layout somwhere in the van , our 2005 T5 had the fuse cards in the cover of the fuse panel , I will admit you need to be Einstein to work out the Egyptian Hyroglipics there are so many fuses with similar symbols that defy translation . Good luck Howard

Also, many plugs that go into lighter sockets have a fuse in them, so don't forget to check that as well.

I have never managed to find the fuse that feeds the power to the socket in the boot.
I would like to use this socket to run my Waceo fridge but have to run it off the socket next to the sliding door
Does anyone know where the rear socket is fed from?
    Thanks Rob.
