Would it make any difference to enclose/ram the air filter so that it doesn't suck in hot air?
Hi My name is Junior from the UK.
Visited this site many times over the past 3 years of owning my Polo GTI so thought it was time i signed up.

Engine
320 BHP and 292 Torque. Currently running 22PSI but soon to be upped to 28-30PSI

Genesis 550cc injectors
Wossner 82.5mm pistons.
Scat Rods using ARP bolts.
ARP Mains bolts.
INA baffled sump.
JabbaSport manifold.
Turbo Dynamics MDX 555 400 turbo.
All new braided oil and water lines.
Custom 2.5” downpipe and sports cat.
Milltek cat back system.
Custom intercooler kit using Toyosports large front mount and 63mm piping.
Custom turbo inlet using 80MM MAF.
80mm JR filter.
Forge 007p with yellow spring.
SAI delete.
N249 & N112 moved to side of head but mapped out.
Various parts of the engine have been powder coated in grey or black and other metal parts painted in silver.
Samco coolant hoses.
Fidanza 228mm flywheel.
VR6 Spec stage 3+ clutch.
02s 6 speed conversion with Quaife LSD.
DA31 external fuel pump.
Battery relocated to boot using Yellow top Optima battery and custom Optima battery tray.
Interior
Half leather (Napa leather) (Warm Charcoal) with red stitching and MK6 Golf/Polo 6R GTI cloth centre.
Leather door panels with red stitching.
Front seats are Corsa VXR Recaro. Airbags all wired up.
Rears are Polo GTI using Golf MK5 GTI rear headrests.
Golf Mk5 Edition 30 gear knob and steering wheel.
LED interior lights throughout.
NewSouth boost gauge fitted in drivers air vent.
Genuine VW Polo arm rest (only available in China) wrapped in Nappa leather.
Cruise control.
Alpine DVD double din touch screen.
Exterior
Gloss B pillars.
Driver’s door de-locked.
Boot handle de-locked.
GTI logo on boot removed.
Rear wiper delete.
Honey comb bumper grills.
Shark fin aerial.
Black front VW badge.
Lights
LED rear number plate lights.
Custom Projecter style headlights with 6000k HID bulbs.
LED park lights.
Suspension
FK Koni Sport (adjustable damping and ride height).
Mondeo droplinks (shorter than stock).
Rear Whiteline antiroll bar.

Seat rear wishbone bushes.

Winter - BBS RW - 7.5x17" ET 35 - 195-40-17 Continental rubber
Summer - BBS RS - 7.5x17" ET 33 - 195-40-17 Continental rubber
Brakes
Front - Tarox 6 pot callipers - Tarox Corsa pads - 305mmx26mm 2 piece discs
Rear – Golf MK4 Anniversary calipers and carriers with 256mm vented discs. Std VW pads

Thanks for the comments. I love my interior and it is always a point of conversation with this car.
I have contemplated doing a heat shield but its just a weekend car for fun and wanting a less is more clean look in the bay so currently in the process of hiding the wiring in the wings to tidy up the bay and this would go against that. I have a decent size intercooler which does a great job of keeping things cool as well as a phelonic gasket so temps are kept low. I'm sure it would make a difference but for the gain I would rather keep the bay clean for now.
As you can see this is the start of me doing the wiring. Long way to go yet.
Also ditched the AC as its always cold and raining in the Uk so not much need for it.

agreed, this car looks amazing... and love the interior!
2016 MY17 Polo GTI with DA package. TMD fitted + Weather strip and Snow Screen removed otherwise dead standard.
