Hey Matty, I tried this and lucky for me stated to take them off in the "right" area explanation to follow

I started by heating up the end of the bump strip on the body of the car pointing towards the front (not the door) then it started to peel it back slowly only to find about an inch along there was a guide hole in the bodywork. Lucky the glue hadn't dried so pushed it back on and there it stayed.

I can only guess there is two guide holes for those strips to keep them level. Can only assume the same for the doors. Can't imagine how much a body shop would charge to fill and paint over all the holes so gave up completely on the idea. But if you're super keen to get rid of all yours I did find out there is a 9n3 Polo made in South Africa called the Vivo which has a smooth rear bumper (no strip) and a Polo 6R front that would also fit and save a heap of labor.

    Cheers.

Ah yes forgot you were wrapping it It's just the glue from the double sided tape I was talking about.

Looking forward to seeing the end result Matt!

I've wrapped my dash and roof rack rails (Skoda Octavia)
Planning to do the door bump strips and door handles next - a little more challenging
My bump strips are stuck to the doors with double sided tape - planning to wrap them in place (careful with the exacto knife!)
