Bluetooth not working on brand new MY12 Golf

    Here is a strange one...

I picked up my brand new MY12 Golf 90TSI yesterday. Drove around all day and the Bluetooth worked perfectly.

Got in the car today and suddenly, no Bluetooth. It doesnt even come up on the MFD.

Any ideas on how I could fix or what could be wrong?

I wasn't too wild about taking half of Monday off work and driving 100km out to the dealer, so I ended up working out how to fix this myself.

In case anyone else has the same problem:

I found the answer here. A number of other people seem to be experiences the same issue. Essentially Bluetooth stops working and the Bluetooth menu item disappears from the menu.

I'm not very mechanically minded, but here is how you fix it:
    1) Look under the driver's seat. You'll find a black polystyrene box containing the Bluetooth unit. It is velcroed to the floor.
    2) Pull the polystyrene box off its velcro holders and forwards
    3) Unclip the cable that comes out the back of it, and then unplug it, and then plug it back in again

And then turn on the car and Bluetooth will re-appear. You'll need to pair your phone again.

It took about 30 seconds to fix and saved a trip to the dealer - a trip that would have been even more annoying given that the car was brand new and developed the problem just over 24 hours after picking it up.

Good thing mine has never done that, since my box is in the dash behind the climatronic controls

Not sure I'm a fan of having the Blue tooth unit sitting inches from my boyz for the many hours I spend in the drive seat.

I have just had the same thing happen to me. Bluetooth just disappears. You saved me a trip to the dealer, thanks.
